Vardi Devi, a resident of Kukarkheda Panchayat in Bhim Tehsil of Rajasthan has not gotten any ration after the Aadhar linked PDS system started functioning because the machine does not recognise her fingerprints. A sack of wheat from the market costs Rs. 2000 and for a widow, this is an unjustifiable price to be paid for her food.

Pratap Singh, Ration dealer of 'Hamela Ki Ver' Village of Brar Panchayat speaks of his experience of going to the hill in the village after Aadhaar recognised machines are being used for distribution. People walk along to the hill for their fingerprints to get verified.

'I cannot get pensions in village after Aadhaar introduced'
This is Fefi Devi W/o Nathu Singh from village and Panchayat Kukerkheda, Block Bhim, Distt Rajsamand, Rajasthan. Both are above 90 years and they haven't got ration from Fair Price Shop after Aadhar based biometric authentication was introduced. The PoS machine doesn't detect their biometrics.
Fefi Devi says she enrolled in Aadhaar but the machine does not recognise her fingerprints. After Aadhaar was made mandatory, she can no longer get her pension in the village, and has to now travel 10 kilometers spending Rs 150 for getting her Rs 500 pension.
Is anyone accountable for Aadhaar errors?

Babu Singh, a construction worker in Jawaja block in Ajmer, and his wife Punni Devi, who has polio, have been "locked out" of food grains because of errors in Aadhaar numbers.

Chhattisgarh government made Aadhaar authentication mandatory in two districts - in Dhamatar and Raigarh - six months back. All beneficiaries have to go to the ration shop and carry out fingerprint authentication or get photographed when they go to the ration shope before they can collect their 7 kilo rations per month.
Surjomati Yadav. an elderly widow, with no immediate family members, in Baghburha village in Raigarh, Chhattisgarh was unable to get 7 kilo grains after Aadhaar made mandatory.
